CROWD SAFETY
This modern sports venue has the space for nearly sixty thousand people, whose safe evacuation during prestigious mass events is a priority. One of the elements that ensure safety at a venue like this are fire safety passages. The Stadium’s passive fire protection includes doors with different fire resistance ratings, which have to stop the spreading of fire and the transmission of high temperature between the isolated parts of the structure.

The main concourse of the Stadium has a system of smoke control curtains installed in the ceiling of each level to preserve a consistent illumination line.
More about the solutionThe PGE Narodowy Stadium features more than ten thousand components of the fire alarm system. The FAS includes fire detectors that sense fire hazards and output detection triggers to the fire control panels installed throughout the Stadium building. The fire detectors can also trigger the public address system for it to immediately broadcast an evacuation alarm. Both on-site safety systems form an unified, integrated system that is interfaced with all fire doors. For the construction of the Stadium building, the passive fire protection manufacturer was faced with an enormous challenge to specify the right fire partitions that will not only perform like they should, but also match the overarching architectural concept. Małkowski-Martech specialises in these solutions and took up the challenge by deploying a number of its products at the PGE Narodowy Stadium to facilitate safe emergency egress from this unique venue. When large fire doors are installed on the perimeters of fire zones, emergency exit man doors without thresholds are installed to facilitate evacuation. This way fire protection and a quick escape route are provided.
