Historic heritage with modern security
Elektrownia Powiśle is an iconic landmark in the Warsaw landscape. It is a historic site that originally served as a power plant supplying energy to the Polish capital. With its distinctive red brick façade and unique industrial architecture, Elektrownia Powiśle is an example of adapting industrial premises to modern needs. After extensive renovation, it has become a multi-purpose place that combines history and modernity. It now serves as a cultural and business centre, offering event spaces, offices and commercial premises. The space required advanced fire protection solutions that not only provided the highest level of safety, but also blended harmoniously with the building's architecture.

We supplied 181 automatic smoke curtains to Elektrownia Powiśle. The total area of the curtains is more than 2,000 m2. The flexible design, simple construction and light weight of Marc-Kda smoke curtains allowed them to be perfectly integrated into the interior without any design changes. Suspended ceilings installed in many areas of the building meant that, in extreme cases, the space left for mounting a smoke curtain cassette was only 15 cm high.
At Elektrownia Powiśle, we also installed our Marc-Ok fire curtain doors with an EI60 fire resistance rating. Like the Marc-Kda smoke curtains, the Marc-Ok doors are characterized by their lightweight construction and small cassette size. In the EI60 class, the thickness of the gate shell is only 9 mm - kg/m2. What sets it apart is certainly the flush-mounting of the cassette with the guides and the completely invisible cover, which makes it easy to integrate it into the space of the designed building - as can be seen in the example of Elektrownia Powiśle.
